Goldwin Play Earth Fund invests in Infinited Fiber Company, which collects and recycles cellulose fiber

Goldwin Play Earth Fund (hereafter “GW-PEF”), co-managed by Goldwin Venture Partners Inc. (hereafter “GVP”) and Ignition Point Venture Partners Inc. (hereafter “IGP-VP”), is pleased to announce that it has made an investment in Infinited Fiber Company Oy (Headquarters: Espoo, Finland; CEO: Petri Alava; hereafter “Infinited”), which operates a cellulose fiber recycling business.
Infinited owns technology to produce a virgin-quality, brand-new, feel-like-cotton fiber called Infinna™ from collected post-consumer-textiles rich in cellulose, such as cotton.
Currently, the majority of clothing sold is eventually disposed of and/or incinerated without recycling. On the other hand, growing cotton, a widely used fiber material for apparel textiles, consumes a large amount of water and chemicals, and its environmental impact needs to be addressed. Infinited owns technology to produce virgin-quality, cotton-like fiber recovered from used clothing rich in plant-based cellulose fibers. The Infinited core technology is based on the results of research conducted by VTT Technical Research Center of Finland.
GVP and IGP-VP decided to invest in Infinited upon recognizing the excellence of the company with its technology to help realize circularity and sustainability required in the apparel/fashion industry, as well as its expanding supply chains in collaboration with post-consumer-textile collection businesses and multiple global apparel brands.
This investment is an opportunity to promote collaboration between Infinited and Goldwin to accelerate our efforts to help realize a circular system for the Japanese textile industry.
